Nobuyuki Tsujii’s story began after the second day he was born. While other babies drinking milk with looking by their mom with bright eyes. Nobu always closed his eyes. Nobu’s mom was immediately brought him to the doctor as the condition still remain unchanged for few days.
He was diagnosed with severe brain damage.
Luckily, Nobu was brought in just in time. The surgery went smoothly and Nobu had a second chance in life.

Hoping to give Nobu a normal childhood experience. Itsuko sent him to a normal preschool when he was 3. A few months later, she was politely asked to withdraw Nobu’s enrollment.
“Nobu had a lot of meltdowns. He had a hard time with his learning and even unwilling to cooperate with the teacher. This has negatively impacted the whole class. I recommeded you delay Nobu’s schooling or send him to a special school.” – Ms. Kazumi, pre-school teacher
But Itsuko refused to give up on her son. She tried everything from signing him up for an expensive behaviour therapy program to hiring learning specialists, and speech therapy.
But none of it worked.
Nobu’s mother felt depressed and frustrated. And at this time, she began to pray that she wanted God to give her and her son guidance.
One night, she had a long dream, she dreamed of a heroic angel who would lead them from darkness to light.
“One day, I was listened to the classical music to calm my mind. I noticed that Nobu was very sensitive against the sound. I was even surprised he could even differentiate the song by different pianist. I found out that he was interested in music, so I bought him a little toy piano. Within a short time, he could play every sound accurately even if I just show him once.” – Itsuko
Itsuko’s surprise doesn’t stop there. Nobu was able to play “Do Re Mi” when she was humming along with it. And she found Nobuyuki playing the song by just hearing it!
Nobu surprised even further by picking music up with amazing speed

With bated breath, Itsuko watched Nobuyuki’s musical abilities grow exponentially. At only 5, he passed the highest piano exam level with a Distinction. Astounded by this achievement, Itsuko let Nobu take the Harvard Music IQ Test. To everyone’s disbelief, Nobuyuki’s score was in the top 2%!
At age 7, Nobu won his first prize at the competition. He debuted with the Orchestra at 10. And has his first performance at a such BIG stage. This news caught the attention of one of the world’s renowned neuroscientist professors Dr. David Jonathan
He was intrigued by how Nobu could make it this far despite his compromised disability. So, he decided to find out the reason further by flying to Japan and visit him.
He began to use a variety of highly sophisticated instruments to map the operation of Nobu’s brain, and finally found a surprising result.
Amazingly, Dr. David found that Nobu’s brain performance better than normal people by 5%.
Nobu’s upward progress continued to amaze everyone. At the age of 12, Nobu performed his own composition. And even made his overseas debut with performances in the United States, France, and Russia. Becoming one of the youngest pianists in the world. His mom was in tears!
